Our Story and the History Behind Our Patent Wall Art

How Brickhouse Partners Ltd began

Brickhouse Partners Ltd was founded in 2008 with a clear purpose: to preserve the visual history of invention and present it as meaningful wall art. The idea grew from a deep appreciation for old diagrams, mechanical drawings, and the elegance found in functional design. Patent illustrations were never meant to be decorative, yet they carry a quiet beauty that often goes unnoticed. These drawings were created to explain how something worked, and in doing so, they captured the creativity and problem solving of their time.

From the beginning, Brickhouse Partners Ltd focused on restoring these diagrams with respect and care. The goal was never to alter the story behind an invention, but to make it clearer and more visually balanced for display. What started as a small passion project became a dedicated art business serving customers across the United States who value history, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design.

Why patent art matters to us

Patent art is a record of human curiosity. Each line, label, and figure represents a moment when someone tried to solve a problem or improve the world in some way. We believe these moments deserve to be seen and appreciated beyond textbooks and archives.

Displaying patent wall art is a way to honor innovation. It can reflect a personal interest, a career path, or a family story. It can also simply reflect a love for clean lines and purposeful design. We see patent art as a bridge between the past and the present, connecting historic ideas with modern spaces.

Our restoration and design approach

Every piece we create starts with an original patent illustration. These source documents often show their age, with faded lines, uneven contrast, and visual noise that distracts from the design. Our process focuses on digital restoration to improve clarity while preserving authenticity.

We carefully enhance contrast, clean up lines, and balance the layout so the artwork reads clearly on the wall. The goal is not to make it look new, but to make it legible, refined, and visually strong. This attention to detail is what allows the finished print to feel at home in a professional office, a modern living room, or a creative workspace.

Once the design is finalized, it is printed on premium materials selected for durability and visual impact. We want each piece to feel substantial and well made, whether it is displayed alone or as part of a larger collection.

Art for homes, offices, and meaningful gifts

Patent wall art works in a wide range of environments. In homes, it adds character and tells a story without overwhelming a space. In offices and studios, it reflects curiosity, problem solving, and respect for innovation. In commercial spaces, it can create visual interest while reinforcing a brand rooted in ideas and creativity.

As gifts, patent prints stand out because they are personal without being generic. Choosing an invention that connects to someone’s interests or profession shows thought and care. Many customers return to Brickhouse Partners Ltd when they need a gift that feels distinctive and lasting.

Built on quality and consistency since 2008

Longevity matters. Since 2008, Brickhouse Partners Ltd has remained committed to consistent quality rather than chasing trends. Our collections have grown, but the foundation has stayed the same. Clear design, thoughtful presentation, and respect for the original invention.

Over the years, we have worked with customers from many backgrounds, including engineers, designers, educators, collectors, and gift buyers. Some are drawn to a specific invention. Others are drawn to the overall aesthetic of patent art. In every case, our responsibility is the same: deliver artwork that meets expectations when it is framed and displayed.

  • The importance of presentation and matte options

Presentation plays a major role in how artwork is experienced. A well chosen matte can transform a print from something that looks unfinished into something that feels intentional and complete. That is why we place strong emphasis on our premium matte options for Duos and Singles.

We work with a trusted matte maker to offer high quality matte options that complement the artwork without overpowering it. Customers can choose between black or white matte, depending on the contrast and mood they want in their space. While the matte is optional, we believe it is one of the simplest ways to elevate the final presentation.

Collages are designed as complete compositions and do not include a matte option. Their layout is intentional and balanced as is.

Custom projects and personal connections

Some customers come to us with a specific vision. It might be a family related patent, a historic inventor, or a set of diagrams that represent a shared theme. Custom Projects allow us to collaborate and create something meaningful that fits a particular space or story.

These projects often become the most personal pieces we produce. They remind us that patent art is not just about design, but about connection.
